HOT HOT HOT - MARIE SHARP'S BELIZEAN HOT SAUCE

Bill with Felder Rushing, famous horticulturist, author, lecturer, TV host and Master Gardner.  He came over to look at all of Bill's pepper plants.  He has an unbelievable flower garden at his home here in Mississippi and he took home one of Bill's hottest pepper plants, the Bhut Jolokia, (considered hottest in the world) a variety of chile pepper originating in Assam, India.

Marie Sharp's hot sauce is the best of the best and is made in Belize, Central America and is now one of the most popular hot sauces used in the US.  We first tried the hot sauce in Belize in 1998 and have been using it ever since.  Marie's hot sauces use the very hot and flavorful Orange Habanero pepper.

Bill is a hot sauce connoisseur and he has quite a collection of hot sauces.  I usually try to pick up different bottles of hot sauces for Bill to try out from my travels, but he says "Marie's is the best" and he would love to meet Marie when he gets to Belize.

Some of Bill's Hot Sauces

"Black Mamba"  I brought this sauce back this year from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and I actually had to sign a 'hold harmless release of liability form' and show a picture ID to be able to buy this hot sauce.  It is Chocolate Habanero with concentrated capsaicin added and the heat can be extremely painful!!!!!!

Here is an article I found from Belize Magazine interviewing Marie Sharp in 2004.

MARIE SHARP'S HOT SAUCES AND HEAT LEVELS

EXOTIC SAUCE - Heat level X
What a sauce!!! A perfect steak sauce but much more versatile. A rich blend of fresh Green Mangos, Tamarind, raisins, Habanero peppers and aromatic spices that will enhance your seafood, meat, eggs or salads. Can also be used for basting or grilling.

SWEET HABANERO PEPPER SAUCE - Heat Level X
One sweet new sauce with a little Habanero bite. Excellent for Hors d'oeuveres, on crackers with creme cheese, Nachos, on meats and fish and also great for Chinese foods. Try it on salads in place of dressings.

MILD - Heat level X
One of the first sauces that Marie created. It has fresh vegetables and the lowest level hotness of Marie’s Habanero pepper. If you like the Habanero Pepper flavor but a lower heat level this sauce is for you.

HOT - Heat level XX
This sauce is the same base as the MILD pepper sauce, but one level up on the heat scale. If you like spicy foods, you might want to start with this sauce to enhance your dishes.

GREEN HABANERO - Heat level XX1/2
A one of a kind sauce made from the Prickly Pear cactus sometimes called "Nopal" and is a high fiber sauce. A very popular and unique green sauce.

ORANGE PULP HABANERO - Heat level XX/2
Marie uses orange Habanero peppers, orange pulp, fresh vegetables, and spices. The citrus enhances the Habanero flavor in a special way.

GRAPEFRUIT HABANERO - Heat level XX1/2
Identical to the Orange Pulp only with grapefruit pulp instead.

FIERY HOT - Heat level XXX
Again the same great recipe but with more Habanero pepper added.

BELIZEAN HEAT - Heat level XXXX
Same base but heat level 4 & commonly used by the native Belizeans. Considered the optimum blend of heat & flavor by Chileheads world wide.

NO WIMPS ALLOWED - Heat level XXXX1/2
As the name of this sauce tells you, this is for the true hot sauce lover. Despite the amount of heat the unique blend of natural flavors will make all your meals satisfying.

BEWARE - Heat level XXXXX
The ultimate creation of Marie’s and the ultimate Habanero pepper sauce. Certainly not as painful as some but what a flavor with comatose heat. We highly recommend you use it by the drop.
